Former Australian pacer Shaun Tait picks his all-time ODI XI, four Indians in the list

Shaun Tait has been one of the fiery fast bowlers of the Australian cricket team during the playing days of his cricketing career. He was considered the next big thing in Australian cricket given his phenomenal pace.

Needless to say, he had to tackle fitness and injury woes in his journey. As a result, he couldn’t always give full commitment to the national cricket team. He has represented Australia in 3 Tests, 35 ODIs and 21 T20Is.

The former cricketer has bagged five wickets in the longest format of the game. On the other side of the coin, he has taken 62 wickets in One-Day Internationals whereas he has bagged 28 wickets in Twenty20 Internationals.

Meanwhile, the former Australian paceman picked his all-time ODI XI and notably, the list is dominated by Indians and Australians. Shaun Tait included four players from India and four players from Australia.

On the other hand, he picked two players from Pakistan and one player from West Indies. Shaun Tait picked ferocious opening pair in the form of Virender Sehwag and Adam Gilchrist.

The duo are known to score runs at the rate of knots during the playing days of their cricketing career for their respective teams. Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar come next on the list.

On the other side of the coin, Brian Lara and Virat Kohli have been slotted at No.5 and 6 respectively. The former fast bowler picked cricketing brain Mahendra Singh Dhoni at No.7 position.

Shaun Tait named just a lone spinner in his ODI XI as he picked legendary Shane Warne at No.8. His list is dominated by a pace battery that include the likes of Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath and Shoaib Akhtar.
