Rohit Sharma’s Post-Match Interaction With Ishan Kishan Goes Viral

The first T20I match between the Indian cricket team and the West Indies cricket team happened on February 16 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan opened the innings for India. While Sharma scored an explosive 19-ball 40, Kishan could score only 35 runs off 42 deliveries.

Thanks to a brilliant batting performance from other batters, the Indian cricket team won the match by six wickets. Kishan’s knock could have hurt the Indian team’s chances of winning if the target was bigger. It was necessary to have a chat with him, because he is still young and learning things in international cricket.

Captain Rohit Sharma took that responsibility and had a chat with Ishan Kishan after the first T20I against the West Indies team. A picture from their brief interaction has gone viral on social media. You can see that photo right here.

Previously in IPL 2021, Virat Kohli was spotted having a chat with Ishan after a match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Mumbai Indians. Ishan had a rough time in the middle back then also. Speaking with the best players of the game will help Kishan’s game, and it will be interesting to see how he performs in the next matches.

There are times Ishan Kishan doesn’t play fluently: Rohit Sharma

Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma have played a lot of matches together for the Mumbai Indians team in the IPL. When asked about Kishan’s 42-ball 35 in the post-match presentation ceremony, Sharma replied:

“I have been talking to Ishan for quite some time, even in our time with Mumbai, there are times he doesn’t play fluently but it is important to keep him calm. With Ishan, it is just about giving him time in the middle and relieve some pressure off him.”

The 2nd T20I between the Indian team and West Indies will happen on February 18 in Kolkata. If India win the match, they will gain an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series.
