Wood recently reacted to his success at the auctions. Speaking to The Guardian, the English pacer said, “As soon as the final amount was confirmed, Sarah asked what it was in pounds – I might have to freeze all our accounts so it doesn’t disappear, But we’re delighted. It’s a weird experience. It feels like a computer game – almost not real, like transfers on Football Manager – but it’s also very real when you get signed. ”

The Englishman will form a prominent part of the LSG bowling attack

Mark Wood will form an important part of the pace attack for the Lucknow Super Giants. He will form a potent partnership alongside the likes of Avesh Khan and Jason Holder. While Marcus Stoinis will also provide a few overs of medium-pace, Dushmantha Chameera will be the reserve pace option.

Considering Avesh is only one season into his IPL career, Wood will have to take more responsibilities along with Holder. It needs to be seen as to how the player would perform. IPL 2022 is likely to begin by the end of March.
