The Indian cricket team is at a very critical stage at the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. Team India have lost their two opening matches against Pakistan & New Zealand respectively.

In their first clash, which was against Pakistan, it was clearly visible that Indian openers were not well-prepared to face the disciplined bowling attack. After the collapse of their batting, it was time for the bowlers to shine, but clearly, there was no impact on Pakistan’s opening pair Babar Azam & Mohammed Rizwan. It was complete domination from the Men in Green.

After a week-long break, it was time for team India to make a comeback against New Zealand. The world witnessed team India’s one of the most horrible performances in recent times in T20 format. Their batting lineup completely collapsed in front of Kiwi bowlers. New Zealand showed that they are the better side when it comes to t20 format.

ICC T20 World Cup is the biggest platform & teams prepare themselves well in advance to make sure that they are not outplayed. Team India is in a situation where they might not even qualify for the semi-finals. 4) Rishabh Pant

Once name which been in the limelight since his debut is Rishabh Pant. Whenever the team needed him, he has always performed well. There are high expectations from the middle order southpaw. We have seen him changing the game in IPL & international tournaments.

It is expected that he will show his magic again in the upcoming fixture against Afghanistan. Pant is one of those players who perform extremely well under pressure & against the pacers. If his ship starts to cruse, team India might make it to the semis.

3) Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja is one name who has never been disappointed in any format of the game. He has performed well with both the bat & the bowl. In the last game against New Zealand, Jadeja’s cameo helped the team to cross the 100 mark, which, at one point, was looking difficult.

If not with a bat, he will definitely perform with his bowling skills. The pitches of the UAE are bowling friendly & hence it will surely benefit Jadeja especially after the power play. Jadeja will surely lower down the run rate of the batting team & help team India to chase an easy target.

2) KL Rahul

KL Rahul’s performance has completely changed since the beginning of 2021. At one point, he was not the name which selectors were too keen on but, his performance in test cricket against England & his extraordinary performance at IPL in both the phases made sure that his name should be rock solid as an opener for the team. Expectations are really high from KL Rahul.

In the ongoing tournament, he has not done anything till now except the patience he has shown on the pitch. His batting has depth & he waits for the ball to come, which in turn gives an effortless performance from the non-striker.

1) Rohit Sharma

This list won’t be completed without the name of Rohit Sharma. He is the best batsman in the world when it comes to T20 format. Rohit Sharma has proven this every time whenever he was given an opportunity. He is a rock-solid opener & this is all team India needs from him.

If team India gets a good start from Rohit Sharma, it will be easier for the rest of the lineup to perform, as this eases out the pressure on the rest of the players. Let’s hope that Rohit Sharma starts to show his performance with his bat very soon.
