Gujarat Titans topped the points table in their debut IPL season by winning 10 of their 14 matches in the league stage. The Ahmedabad-based franchise made their debut under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, scoring 20 points and bagging the number one position on the points table. R Sai Kishore has played an important role in GT’s success.
Playing his first season for the Gujarat Titans, R Sai Kishore has formed a good bonding with the team’s captain Hardik Pandya. Kishore did not feature in the playing XI for the initial matches, but as the pitches slowed down, the Titans team management gave him a place in the playing XI. He formed an excellent combination with Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan.
In an interview with Gujarat Titans ahead of the team’s Qualifier 1 match against the Rajasthan Royals, R Sai Kishore heaped praise on Hardik Pandya’s captaincy skills and said:
“Hardik has been pretty simple. In the last game, he came to me and said, ‘Left-hander is batting, do you want me to tell you anything, or you know?’ I said, ‘I know, I’ll take care.’ I find Hardik as a very strong personality. He carries himself with a lot of confidence and has confidence in his players as well.”
R Sai Kishore will play a crucial role for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 Playoffs
The playoffs round of IPL 2022 will get underway tomorrow evening at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, where the Gujarat Titans taking on the Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 1 match. GT can qualify for the final in their first season if they win against RR tomorrow.
Given how important Sai Kishore has been for the team this season, it should not be a surprise if he retains his place in the playing XI even though a fresh pitch will be on offer at Eden Gardens.
