On Sunday (November 13), the highly anticipated Twenty20 World Cup 2022 came to a close, with England claiming victory for a record-tying second time. Only the West Indies have won the World T20 more than once, and now Jos Buttler’s squad has joined that elite company by beating Pakistan in the final at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
England won the tournament thanks to a half-century from Ben Stokes after bowling first and holding Pakistan to a below-par total of 137/8. Stokes batted unbeaten for 52 off 49 balls, hitting five fours and a six on the way to bringing England victory.
Many matches in this year’s tournament came down to the final few points, and players have impressed with their efforts. The ICC has picked the top 5 matches of this year’s T20 World Cup. They picked India vs Pakistan game, which was a blockbuster.
They also picked Nederlands vs South Africa match where the Nederlands managed to knock out South Africa. Then they picked up the Pakistan vs Zimbabwe game where Zimbabwe managed to upset Pakistan by winning by 1 run. India vs England game in the semi-final was also part of the list. Jos Buttler and Alex Hales’ blitz blew away India at the Adelaide Oval. Lastly, ICC also picked up the India vs South Africa game in the group stages. India’s top order was blown away by the South African fast bowlers. However, the Indian fast bowlers came up strong and brought India back into the game. In the end, David Miller’s blitz helped South Africa to win the game.
