In the latest development, it has been learnt that the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill are likely to get a promotion in the new central contract from the BCCI.

A senior official on the condition of anonymity told PTI that Suryakumar Yadav deserves to might get a promotion from Group C to B if not Group A because he has been brilliant for India in the last 1 year.

Moreover, Suryakumar is also ranked the No.1 as far as the T20I rankings are concerned. The senior official further added that Suryakumar is a serious contender in the ODI team too.

Shubman Gill has been playing Tests and ODIs of late for India. The star cricketer might as well get a promotion from Group C to B. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya is currently seen as the future T20I captain.

The all-rounder might be included in a Group B contract after a series of consistent spells for India. On the contrary, the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Wriddhiman Saha and Ishant Sharma are likely to be axed from the central contract.
