Australia are crossing swords with West Indies in the second Test match which is currently being played at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. Steve Smith has been named the acting captain in Pat Cummins’ absence.

Australia’s stand-in captain Steve Smith won the toss and chose to bat first. The hosts already took the first lead in the series by scripting a huge win over the Caribbeans in the first game.

Australia beat West Indies by 164 runs and are the favourites to win the second Test as well. David Warner once again failed to deliver the goods as an opener as he got out for 21 runs.

Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labushchagne added a decent partnership of 95 runs for the second wicket before Khawaja departed for 62 runs (9 boundaries).

Marnus Labuchagne scores yet another century in the series against West Indies

Australia’s Test specialist Marnus Labuschagne has been in the surreal form of his Test cricket career. The right-handed batsman once again made his presence count on the pitch by scoring a marvellous century.

During the first Test, Marnus scored 204 in the first innings and scored an unbeaten century in the second innings. Notably, he was named the man of the match for his batting masterclass in Perth.

Talking about his knock in the second Test, he hunkered himself at the pitch and ticked the flow of runs bit by bit. In the process, he went on to score yet another century.

He composed his innings with the help of 11 boundaries and apart from that, he converted 1’s into 2’s and beefed up his score. Marnus Labuschagne drew plaudits for his exceptional batting against West Indies.

Apart from Marnus, Travis Head also played quite well and scored his fifth Test century and it was his first century in Adelaide. He missed out on scoring a century in Perth as he was dismissed for 99.
