The all-powerful Finance & Commercial Affairs Committee (F&CA) of the International Cricket Council (ICC) is apparently planning to form a working group to propose a new revenue-sharing structure, which may be a landmark step toward elevating India’s standing in cricket. The Indian Cricket Board is projected to get 37% of ICC income during the cycle of 2024-2027 if the plan is accepted as stated.
This is a huge rise for BCCI compared to the previous cycle (2016-2023) when they only received 22.8%. Over that time period, the Indian Cricket Board amassed $405 million.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has long maintained that the Indian market accounts for more than 75% of the ICC’s total earnings.
However, the auction of media rights for the 2024–2027 cycle has disproven this assumption and shown that India’s participation is far more than previously assumed.
The price tag of $60 million was predicted for the four-year sale of the Australian rights. The ICC has inked an eight-year contract with broadcaster Sky for the UK and Europe, which is longer than any other market. People who keep tabs on this market say “This happened because the four-year deal was hardly fetching the ICC anything.”
BCCI is likely to get 37% of ICC revenue share from 2024-27
The rest of the world isn’t chipping in even half a billion dollars. BCCI is now in the process of arranging IPL 2023, in which many teams compete against one another for the coveted championship; based on their performance so far, Rajasthan Royals stand out as the best in the competition since they have an all-round team.
The success of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has led many to wonder whether Indian cricket fans would continue to enjoy watching multi-format bilateral cricket at home at the same rate.
Following talks at its Apex Council meeting on Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will compile its media rights tender and release it to the market in an attempt to find a response. Even though the IPL is the primary moneymaker for BCCI, bilateral cricket remains a significant source of income.

This is complete horseshit. The ICC will have to tell the BCCI to fuck off one day soon enough. 100% of ICC money should be used to develop global cricket & not to fatten the already chubby Full Member fat cats FFS ! 🤬 #Cricket #GlobalGame https://t.co/QVDgIwUc9R
