“So it will be a pacer friendly pitch” – Twitter reacts to the report that the pitch in the 4th Test against Australia is unlikely to be a rank turner

Mohammed Shami, India’s veteran bowler, is expected to make a comeback into the starting Eleven for the next fourth and final Test against Australia in Ahmedabad, according to a report from PTI on Saturday (March 4).

The Indian team management, in collaboration with the team’s medical staff, has chosen to rotate the fast bowlers who will be participating in both the ODI World Cup later this year and the Indian Premier League in 2023.

Therefore, after playing in the first two Tests against Australia, Shami was given a match off for the third match. Umesh Yadav took his position in the lineup as the second bowler in the team after Mohammed Siraj.

It is said that Siraj would rest for the fourth and final test against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium since he will be playing in the ODI series.

World Test Championship (WTC) final position is at stake, and a dry Ahmedabad surface will favour the pacing of Shami, who has been the better of the two sides.

With a victory in the last match, India will advance to the WTC finals. They have a 2-1 lead in the four-match series.

Even for the third Test, the International Cricket Council has given its approval of the pitch’s condition as “bad” (ICC). Australia beat India by nine wickets in the third Test, which was played at the Holkar Stadium and completed in two days and one session.

Following that, it’s quite unlikely that the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) would jeopardize its standing by manufacturing a poor-quality turner.

“We haven’t received any instructions from the Indian team management and our local curators are preparing a normal track as we have always done through the season,” a state association source told PTI.

“In fact, last Ranji game over here in January, Railways scored 500 plus (508) batting first and Gujarat, although had innings defeat, scored 200 plus in both innings. It won’t be too different this time,” he said.
