The Super 12 of T20 World Cup 2022 has been concluded and we already have out four semi-finalists – New Zealand, England, India and Pakistan. New Zealand will take on Pakistan in the first semi-final at the Sydney Cricket Ground on 9th November and India will fight England in the second semi-final at the Adelaide Oval on 10th November.
Cricket analysts and fans have already started to give their verdicts about the match. While everyone is agreeing that New Zealand seem to be the strongest side out of these four, the common consensus is that India and Pakistan will meet each other for a mega clash in the final on 13th November at the MCG.
South African cricket legend AB de Villiers has also given his verdict about the final and it is nearly the same. He previously ran a poll on his twitter account where he asked how many of the fans were eager for an India vs Pakistan final. Not to our surprise, 75.1% fans voted in favour of an India vs Pakistan final.
After the results of the poll were out, AB de Villiers tweeted below the poll: “Fantasy final indeed! So far 70% have voted Yes, but I’m sure NZ and ENG will have something to say about that. Both teams have amazing line-ups and are in good form. Gonna be two epic semi final clashes. My vote goes for an Ind/Pak final too, would be a mouth watering encounter”
As we all know, AB de Villiers is one of the most beloved foreign cricketers in India. He had a special bond with Indian fans, especially when he played in the Indian Premier League for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He is also a very good friend of former Indian captain Virat Kohli and thus it is pretty understandable that he will be supporting team India to win the T20 World Cup 2022 now that South Africa have been eliminated.
