On Wednesday, Bangladesh‘s T20 World Cup hopes were dashed once again, this time by the Indians (November 2). With a winning position at the Adelaide Oval, Bangladesh suffered a similar defeat to that which occurred in Bengaluru in 2016.
Bangladesh needed 185 runs to win, and they were 66 without loss after seven overs. All of the players returned to the locker room. At this point, Bangladesh was up 17 runs on the DLS system, and the players were all smiles. India would have been defeated if the game did not begin.
The weather, however, suddenly reversed course and the game could continue as planned. Since then, India has completely turned the match around, holding Bangladesh five runs below the adjusted DLS goal.
After the game, several Pakistani spectators questioned whether or not the match should have even begun given the poor field conditions. And let’s not forget Litton Das, who hit a half-century for Bangladesh and kept them in the game had two slips in between the pitch. The second time around, he was successfully run out. After being sent away, he rose to his feet and began to go back, with his fury evident on his face.
Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan lamented after his team lost by five runs to India in their Men’s T20 World Cup Group 2 Super 12 match at the Adelaide Oval. He said they are doing the same mistakes again and again. With Litton Das’s astonishing 60 off only 27 balls, Bangladesh seemed to be in good shape at 66 for no loss after seven overs. They were chasing 185. Unfortunately, the equation has to be revised to 151 in 16 overs due to the rain delay.
The Pakistani and Bangladeshi fans are saying that the ICC favours the BCCI due to their influence and economic help. However, one Pakistani fan has come out and told publicly that he does not believe in such a narrative
