“Excellent technique, Pakistan and England players should learn”-Twitter reacts as Glenn Phillips pulls of an Olympic race-style sprint at non-striker’s end
Phillips, in addition to his superb performance, showed an unorthodox but successful manner of leaving the crease at the non-striker’s end without putting his wicket at risk. This allowed him to continue batting after he had scored a run.
After Deepti Sharma reignited the controversy surrounding the dismissal – more informally known as the “Mankad” – when she ran out England’s Charlotte Dean at the non-striker’s end in an ODI, many insisted that the batters should stay at the crease until the bowler releases the ball.
Phillips, who was batting for New Zealand in the final over of their innings, bent towards the crease in a manner that was similar to how athletes prepare for a sprint, and as soon as Lahiru Kumara released the delivery, he ran towards the striker’s end.
This was Phillips’ attempt to keep the strike and keep his wicket safe. Phillips has received praise for his inventive strategy to avoid being dismissed for running out at the non-striker’s end during his inning.

Twitter Reacts:
Glenn Phillips rescued NZ from a similar situation like Ind vs Pak, but unfortunately won't get that level of hype and appreciation 🙃🙃

With changes brought to cricket there are always innovations and this could be the best in recent times, other one could be having benched player field outside boundary to save time (done by aus) and avoid fielding restriction penalty
