Pakistan qualified for the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup with a resounding win over Hong Kong in their last group match of the Asia Cup. This victory also set the ground for the second episode of the blockbuster showdown between Pakistan and India, which will take place on September 4th. Following India’s narrow victory over their neighbours in an earlier matchup during the event, the bitter rivals will square off against one another for the second time in this competition. During the press conference that took place before the match on Saturday evening, Indian head coach Rahul Dravid delivered a funny bit of commentary to the media.
After coming down with the Covid-19 virus only a few days before the start of the Asia Cup, Rahul Dravid’s participation in the competition was in serious question; nevertheless, he made a quick recovery and was able to resume his position as the Head Coach of the Indian side. The former captain of India had the media in fits of laughter on Saturday evening with his wacky reaction to a question about the performance of his bowlers. The match is scheduled to take place the next day against India’s fiercest foe, Pakistan.
What did Rahul Dravid say?
It would seem that the head coach of the Indian team was attempting to depict the Indian bowlers as efficient despite the fact that they were not as “sexy” as the bowlers from Pakistan. Even though Dravid did not really utter the phrase himself, the reporters who were there knew exactly what he was trying to say, and they broke out laughing as a result. It was claimed by the Indian coach that his team’s bowlers may not have the same level of pace as their competitors, but that the fact that they are effective is what really counts.
“I wanted to use the term, but I can’t use the word. The word in my thoughts is coming out of my lips, but I can’t use it. I wanted to use the word. It is a four-letter term that begins with the letter ‘S,’ but that’s all right. That’s the point I’m trying to make. We may not have the most alluring appearance, but we have the kind of people who get results,” Rahul Dravid said.
