The cricket fraternity was dealt a massive blow on Friday. Former cricketer Shane Warne reportedly succumbed to a heart attack while on a holiday in Thailand. Ever since Warne’s untimely demise, the cricketing world has been pouring tributes for the legend. While paying tribute to Shane Warne, former Australia cricketer and captain Ricky Ponting could not control his emotions.
Shane Warne passes away at the age of 52
On Friday, it was announced that Warne was found in an unresponsive state in a villa in Thailand. The doctors tried their best to revive Warne but could do it. It is said that Warne passed away due to a suspected heart attack. The player was only 52 years old.
Warne was arguably the greatest turner of the ball that the game produced. He is the second-highest wicket-taker in Tests and has inspired a lot of players to pick up the ball. In recent years, after his retirement, Warne was actively involved in broadcasting. A regular on TV and social media, Warne’s passing away will be tough to digest for the fans of the sport.

A generation of cricketers associates themselves very strongly with Shane Warne. The Aussie players are always known to be close amongst themselves and Ponting and Warne together played plenty of games for the nation.
