Facebook going down gives birth to humour: In a clash of the titans, Delhi Capitals thrashed Chennai Super Kings to claim the ace of the points table. However, it simply seemed like the continuation of a boring campaign with low scores deluging all over and teams hardly breaking free as the balls haven’t been coming onto the bat.
Chennai was off to an abysmal start last night as both the openers failed to rack up big scores and the introduction of Robin Uthappa didn’t help much either. It was a late burst from Ambati Rayudu that propelled the scores of Chennai to a defendable total.
Woes of Dhoni continued
Sadly, for the fans, it was another disappointing display from MS Dhoni as he played a staggering 27 balls from which he could only score 18 runs. The sadder part of the story was that Dhoni couldn’t rack up a single boundary in the innings.
The chase wasn’t easy for Delhi Capitals, as they barely scraped through. Shaw and Dhawan were off to a decent start, but it was pretty slow in nature. The regular fall of wickets didn’t help Delhi’s cause either, as the batters could barely rack up something big.
It needed an extraordinary knock from Shimron Hetmyer to pull Delhi out of the quagmire, and Chennai was denied any glory at all.
Axar Patel was adjudged as the man of the match after his brace with the ball and a match-winning 5 in the end that provided support to Hetmyer at the other end.
A few laughs in the dark times of Facebook
With all said and done, the highlight of the last night was the crashing of Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp, three of the biggest social media platforms. It never hurts, however, to find some humour even in the darkest times.
A Twitter user brought out the best of humour she could from the situation and quoted, “Read somewhere: “Mark Zuckerberg saving Dhoni from criticism.”

Given the age of Dhoni, it has become increasingly difficult for him to perform at his peak. However, the man’s dedication is something laudable to witness. This IPL will probably be his last dance in the flesh as Chennai will be eyeing the title.
