Hiring players from the same state helps an IPL franchise in many ways. Firstly, these players would have had more experience playing in the home venue. Next up, it is always a delight for the fans to see some of their own players do well at the IPL level while representing the home franchise. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Uttar Pradesh cricketers LSG can realistically target for IPL 2025.
1) Dhruv Jurel
Dhruv Jurel is a future superstar and hence, many teams would line him up at the auctions. Rajasthan Royals may not be able to retain him because of the other priorities they have.
While LSG will not have a worry about the wicket-keeper slot, they should not shy away if Dhruv Jurel is available. He is a domestic keeper and is still very young. He can play at No.5 and can also be groomed to operate at different slots, as well.
2) Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of the Uttar Pradesh cricketers LSG can realistically target for IPL 2025. SRH is unlikely to keep hold of Bhuvi for IPL 2025, although they could try to sign him at the auctions.
On the other hand, LSG might need an experienced pacer who can guide the likes of Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan and Yash Thakur. In this regard, Bhuvi would be a perfect choice. He also adds value to the side with the ability to contribute in all phases of the game.
3) Nitish Rana (former Delhi cricketer)
Having played a lot of Delhi before, a season ago, Nitish Rana made the shift to Uttar Pradesh. He is also playing in the UP T20 League.
Nitish offers stability in the middle-order with his experience. He is good against spin and he can also bowl some spin. The player would be a good replacement for Deepak Hooda or Devdutt Padikkal. If required, with his experience at KKR, Nitish could also step in as a skipper.
