3 players Suryakumar Yadav captained in 2013 Asia Emerging Cup and might captain them again in the senior side

As per reports, Suryakumar Yadav is likely to be appointed as the next Indian T20I skipper. In 2013, he was the captain of the squad that played in the Asia Emerging Cup. India won that trophy. Here, we take a look at three players Suryakumar Yadav captained in the 2013 Asia Emerging Trophy and might captain them again in the senior side.
1) KL Rahul
KL Rahul was the lead scorer back in that series. At the moment, KL is not a part of the T20I setup. However, you cannot rule out his comeback.
KL is a quality cricketer and he would be desperate to return to this form. All he needs is just one good IPL season with an excellent strike-rate and he would be in the plans in the playing XI.
2) Jasprit Bumrah
Bumrah is one of the players Suryakumar Yadav captained in the 2013 Asia Emerging Trophy and might captain them again in the senior side. Of course, Bumrah will be SKY’s main weapon in the squad. Bumrah may not play a lot of games but will surely be a part of the World Cup.
SKY and Bumrah enjoy a good relationship. They spend a lot of time at Mumbai Indians, as well. Therefore, this could help Team India with SKY making good use of Bumrah.
3) Axar Patel
With Ravindra Jadeja having retired, Axar Patel will be the lead spin-bowling all-rounder for India in the T20 format. In the recent T20 World Cup, Axar Patel played at No.8. He was promoted whenever required based on the situation.
However, he would now operate at No.7. It is important that he continues to do well because his role adds a lot of balance to the side. India will meanwhile look to groom a good No.8 and Washington Sundar is likely to be one of the candidates.
