IPL might have reached a stage wherein the player-power will soon take over. Last season, we saw Hardik Pandya push a move to the Mumbai Indians. In this regard, a few more players might take some bold decisions in the coming seasons. On that note, here, we take a look at four retained players before IPL 2022 Mega Auctions who could decline retention before IPL 2025.

1) Axar Patel

For Axar Patel, it could be more about taking a step further in his career. And this could involve him leading an IPL side. Also, at Delhi, he might never get an opportunity in the near future. Hence, Axar could decline retention and decide to enter the auctions.

2) KL Rahul (Picked outside auction)

KL Rahul is one of the retained players before IPL 2022 Mega Auctions who could decline retention before IPL 2025. After what happened with the owners in IPL 2024, KL Rahul could look to make a move to a different team. In fact, LSG might not even retain him. Even if they approach him for retention, KL Rahul could look at different options considering it has not worked out for him at Lucknow.

3) Rashid Khan (Picked outside auction)

Rashid Khan was the vice-captain but after Hardik Pandya left, Shubman Gill was given the job. Rashid might want a captaincy challenge in the IPL. Also, since he might not be the first retention at GT, he could explore his market value by going under the hammer.

4) Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja is also one of the retained players before IPL 2022 Mega Auctions who could decline retention before IPL 2025. The experienced Indian all-rounder might have expected another chance with the armband. However, CSK went ahead with their future plan in Ruturaj Gaikwad. Since Jaddu might also want a fresh challenge, he could decide to move to a different team.
