Delhi Capitals is one side that has fallen off in recent years. Before the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, the franchise had a strong squad. They also reached one final and a few playoffs. However, after the squad was disrupted, the rough patch was going to come. Especially in the bowling department, barring the spinners and Anrich Nortje, the team still does not have a reliable attack. Hence, they keep changing it often. Some of the former DC players were signed by CSK at the recent IPL 2024 Auctions. Both these signings would strengthen the squad. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two former Delhi Capitals players CSK signed at IPL 2024 Auctions.
1) Shardul Thakur
Shardul Thakur was the lead Indian pacer signed by Delhi at IPL 2022 Mega Auctions. However, it was not a successful signing. Shardul could not deliver with the bowl and also failed with the bat. The next season, he was traded to KKR, where the player had to endure a similar fate.
However, for IPL 2024, he returns to CSK, the franchise where he found all that success. CSK would consider themselves lucky to have got Shardul for such a low fee. While he can add batting depth, in the middle-overs and even at the death, he is an upgrade over the current choices they have.
2) Mustafizur Rahman
Mustafizur Rahman is one of the former Delhi Capitals players CSK signed at IPL 2024 Auctions. After his initial seasons, Fizz has been struggling in the IPL. However, he is still getting chances because of his unique skills.
At CSK, though, he could enjoy a good run. At Chepauk, if Fizz can execute his cutters well, it would be hard for the batters to score against him. If CSK decides to play him along with Matheesha Pathirana, Fizz would become even more dangerous.
