Kolkata Knight Riders had an interesting run at IPL 2024 Auctions. While they got the majority of their players at base price, for Mitchell Starc, they broke the all-time IPL record. Interestingly, they also signed up some former RCB cricketers. Here, we take a look at the list of four former RCB players whom KKR signed in IPL 2024 Auctions.
1) Manish Pandey
Manish Pandey is one of the former RCB players whom KKR signed in IPL 2024 Auctions. It was in 2009 that Manish Pandey made his RCB debut. He stayed at the franchise for one more year.
However, it was at KKR that Manish hit his peak. In the 2024 Auctions, he was unsold in the first round. KKR picked him up in the accelerated round.
2) Mitchell Starc
In the IPL history, Starc only played for RCB. KKR signed him in 2018 but he could not play for them. Now, he will play for the franchise in IPL 2024.
Starc will lead the bowling attack for KKR. He is a quality bowler and will have a lot on his plate. It will be interesting to see how he performs.
3) KS Bharat
KS Bharat made his IPL debut at RCB. He had a good time at the franchise but had to be released. Since then, he is yet to find his feet in IPL.
KKR needs an Indian keeper and hence, Bharat could get a few games at KKR. He now has a good chance to make a name for himself in this format.
4) Sherfane Rutherford
Sherfane Rutherford is one of the former RCB players whom KKR signed in IPL 2024 Auctions. A few seasons ago, the West Indian played for RCB. He had one good knock to remember.
It was a surprise that KKR signed the cricketer. They initially tried for Rovman Powell but could not get him. Nevertheless, Sherfane is still a useful backup for someone like Andre Russell.
