3 former players whom Delhi Capitals could target as the replacement for Harry Brook

Harry Brook has announced that he will not be playing in IPL 2024. This is a big blow for Delhi Capitals because he would have been the ideal player for the side at No.5. Nevertheless, DC now has a chance to go for a replacement. On that note, here, we take a look at three former players whom Delhi Capitals could target as the replacement for Harry Brook.

1) Colin Munro

It is the experience that Delhi Capitals needs in the lower middle order. In the last few seasons, especially after the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions, the team has struggled in this regard.

Colin Munro is now more of a middle-order batter. He has a lot of experience in the T20 format. Therefore, the Kiwi could be a good option for the management to consider.

2) Sam Billings

Sam Billings is one of the former players whom Delhi Capitals could target as the replacement for Harry Brook. Tristan Stubbs is now more likely to take up a spot in Delhi’s lower middle order. However, it needs to be noted that he has not been successful in the limited chances that he has got in the IPL.

Hence, although Shai Hope is there, DC would need a backup because Shai is more of a top-order player. Hence, Sam Billings will be an interesting choice here. He has the sufficient experience to deliver from the first game.

3) James Neesham

DC does not have reliable pace-bowling all-rounders. Mitchell Marsh, due to his injury issues, might not bowl that much. Hence, DC has a problem here.

Therefore, James Neesham can be suitable for the balance of this side. If Axar Patel can slot in at No.5, Neesham can play at No.6. He can provide the ideal finishing to an inning for the team. Plus, with the ball, he can provide a few overs.
