It does not take long for a player’s fate to change in the IPL. With the Mega Auction usually around, a hike in salary is always around the corner. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of four players earning INR 20 Lakhs now but could be retained before the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
1) Rajat Patidar
Rajat came in as a replacement player and could now get retained by RCB ahead of the next season. He is brilliant against spin and also does well against pace. RCB do not have other suitable options to retain. Considering the player’s skills, it is an easy decision for RCB to make.
2) Matheesha Pathirana
Pathirana is one of the players earning INR 20 Lakhs now but could be retained before the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. One of the best overseas pacers in the league, CSK will surely retain the Sri Lankan speedster. He has the skills to change the game within a few overs and hardly anyone apart from Jasprit Bumrah can do that in the IPL.
3) Ayush Badoni
Ayush Badoni is also one of the players earning INR 20 Lakhs now but could be retained before the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Looking at his form in the ongoing Delhi Premier League, it would not be a surprise if LSG retains Ayush. He is a young middle-order batter with a high potential. It would be hard to get another such player or even Ayush himself at the auctions.
4) B Sai Sudharsan
It is a no-brainer for GT to invest in Sai. In the last few years, he has been in top form for the side. In IPL 2024, we saw a glimpse of the brilliance of the Shubman Gill-Sai Sudharsan opening combination. They complement each other very well and can be a part of the side for the future.
