India’s Champions Trophy team is all set to be selected. Here, we take a look at the list of 4 Indians who were a part of the 2023 ODI WC squad but may not be selected for the Champions Trophy.
Note: We have not considered R Ashwin, who has now retired from all forms of the game.
1) Shardul Thakur
Shardul Thakur is nowhere in the scene right now. Back then, he was the first option for the No.8 role. In fact, until Hardik Pandya got injured, he played for India in that event. Since then, he has been out of the setup for the Indian squad.
2) Suryakumar Yadav may not be in the Champions Trophy squad
SKY is not making it big in the ODI format. In the recent domestic events, as well, he could not deliver his best. Therefore, India could stick with KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer.
3) Prasidh Krishna
Prasidh Krishna is also one of the Indians who were a part of the 2023 ODI WC team but may not be selected for the Champions Trophy. He came in as the replacement for Hardik Pandya. However, he could not get a game. Only if Shami is injured, could Prasidh get a chance now.
4) Ishan Kishan may also not be in the Champions Trophy squad
Ishan missed out on the Indian contract due to non-cricketing reasons. Since then, he has not played for India. With Rishabh Pant returning, there is no chance that Ishan Kishan will get a spot in the squad.
