It is still not sure if MS Dhoni will be available for IPL 2025. However, the indication is that he is likely to retire. If that happens, CSK will have a tough job finding a replacement for him behind the stumps. While the preference will be to sign an established keeper, CSK will also have to keep an eye on some uncapped talents. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three uncapped wicket-keepers CSK can target for IPL 2025.
1) Abishek Porel
Abhishek Porel has done well for Delhi Capitals in recent times. A left-handed batter, he did well both as a finisher and also in the top-order. If he adds further muscle, he can work on his power-hitting, which would make him a fine T20 batter.
CSK might need a left-hander in the top-order. Therefore, they could consider the West Bengal cricketer. He will be a long-term choice for the franchise to consider.
2) Prabhsimran Singh
Prabhsimran Singh is one of the uncapped wicket-keepers CSK can target for IPL 2025. He might have to bat in the top-order and CSK could consider that depending on the combination they will have after the auctions.
He is a highly-rated talent and has already done well in the IPL. Behind the stumps, as well, he is quite established. Therefore, CSK could consider his signature.
3) Robin Minz
It was unfortunate that Robin Minz had to miss IPL 2024 due to a motor accident. Considering the season Gujarat Titans had and the issues with Saha’s form, Minz would have got a lot of games. Nevertheless, he would still be rated for the upcoming seasons.
Hailing from Jharkhand, he is dubbed as the ‘Chris Gayle’ from the state. He is a brute hitter and plays in the middle-order. MS Dhoni knows the skills of the player and he could be a good choice.
