Mayank Yadav is now a capped cricketer. This is a big blow for LSG, who would have liked to retain him as an uncapped cricketer. Nevertheless, they do have some other options in the squad. Here, we take a look at the list of three uncapped players LSG can retain now that Mayank Yadav made his India debut.
1) Ayush Badoni
It is no debate, really! Even if Mayank Yadav had been available as an uncapped cricketer, Ayush Badoni would have still been retained by the franchise. His recent form, especially in the Delhi Premier League, is the reason for the same.
Ayush plays as a finisher and already has experience in three IPL seasons. It is now time for him to take his game to the next level. It is hard to get an Indian like him and hence, LSG has an easy choice to make here.
2) Mohsin Khan
Mohsin Khan is one of the uncapped players LSG can retain now that Mayank Yadav made his India debut. Yes, he has been injury-prone but Mohsin has actually done well in the games that he has got for LSG. He is a quality new-ball bowler and also can dish out some variations in the death overs.
He is someone who is also improving with his batting. Mohsin does offer some good attributes and therefore, LSG should consider retaining him.
3) Yash Thakur
The EKANA Stadium in Lucknow needs pacers who can trick the batters with their variations. Yash Thakur does that well and he has done well in this regard for LSG in the past.
Hence, if LSG wants to retain a second uncapped cricketer after Ayush Badoni, Yash Thakur is a very decent choice. If LSG don’t keep him, they might have to target someone like Harshal Patel at the auctions, which could be a bit expensive.
