For a long tournament like the IPL, bench strength plays a crucial role. Injuries are common in IPL and at times, players could tend to miss a few games in between. Bench strength comes into the picture here. Also, it is important to consider other factors such as form and matchups. On that note, here, we take a look at three teams with the best bench strength for IPL 2024.
1) Chennai Super Kings
CSK has been doing well in improving the bench strength in the recent auctions. For IPL 2024, as well, they have a fine squad with a top bench. In the overseas department, they have Mitchell Santner, Mustafizur Rahman and Rachin Ravindra as the backup for the preferred foreigners.
In the Indian pace department, we have Shardul Thakur improving the depth while the likes of Simarjeet Singh were retained. Sameer Rizvi, Avanish Rao and Shaikh Rasheed are some of the youngsters who add depth to the batting unit.
2) Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans are one of the teams with the best bench strength for IPL 2024. GT is probably the only team with a top bench. If you analyse the squad, the likes of Matthew Wade, Abhinav Manohar, Kartik Tyagi, Robin Minz and R Sai Kishore could end up on the bench.
GT has depth for all the departments of the squad. The team is mostly young and hence, having such a strong bench will help the side do well.
3) Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH did well to improve the bench strength in IPL 2024 Auctions. Especially in the overseas contingent, no other team has a better bench than SRH.
On the domestic front, as well, SRH has some fine youngsters such as Abdul Samad and Akash Singh who might be on the bench. It won’t be a surprise if the likes of Mayank Agarwal and Rahul Tripathi will compete for one role in the playing XI.
