There are teams such as KKR which may not have the same wicket-keeper for the entire IPL 2024. Teams such as RCB and GT have a wicket-keeping option but their batting form and age is a concern. In this context, there are some teams which have not just one or two but as many as three solid wicket-keeping options in the first-choice playing XI. Here, we take a look at three teams that will have three wicket-keeping options in the preferred playing 11 for IPL 2024.
1) Rajasthan Royals
Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler are two of the best wicket-keeper batters in the IPL. They will play in the top-order for RR. While Sanju is the skipper, Jos will be his deputy.
In recent seasons, Dhruv Jurel has earned the spot as a finisher. He was recently selected for the Indian Test Team, as well. For RR, Sanju will keep wickets.
2) Lucknow Super Giants
LSG has two genuine wicket-keepers in the form of Nicholas Pooran and Quinton de Kock in the playing XI. Both these players have specific roles when it comes to the batting department.
However, it could be a part-time keeper who could keep wickets for LSG in IPL 2024. KL Rahul is now doing well behind the stumps and he might have to audition for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Hence, he might keep wickets and also bat in the middle-order.
3) Punjab Kings
Punjab Kings is one of the teams that will have three wicket-keeping options in the preferred playing 11 for IPL 2024. Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma are the three wicket-keeping choices for PBKS. One of Bairstow or Prabhsimran will open the batting and the other will operate at No.3.
Jitesh Sharma will be the main man for PBKS in the middle-overs. He is currently playing for India and hence, there will be additional responsibility for him. He is also the likely candidate to take the gloves at PBKS.
