For the second game in a row, Prithvi Shaw did not find a place even as a substitute in IPL 2024. There are no reports of any injury. At this rate, he might not play a lot of games. Hence, he could be available in the mid-season transfer window. A few teams must look to pull off a deal this time around. On that note, here, we take a look at three teams that could target Prithvi Shaw in the mid-season transfer window if he becomes available.
1) Gujarat Titans
Prithvi Shaw would be a great fit for Gujarat Titans at the top of the order. GT lacks the firepower at the top and the likes of Wriddhiman Saha are failing. Gill is also feeling the heat of captaincy.
If GT can somehow play an Indian keeper in the lower middle-order, they can slot in Shaw at the top. This would upgrade the team instantly.
2) Lucknow Super Giants
LSG is one of the teams that could target Prithvi Shaw in the mid-season transfer window if he becomes available. Going against many reports, KL Rahul opened the batting for LSG in the first game. Again, KL Rahul had to play slow and this did not serve him well and even the team.
If someone like Shaw is at the top, it would solve many problems for the side. There will be a good opener against spin and also, KL Rahul can operate in the middle-order.
3) Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR opened with Sunil Narine in the first game. It is not sure if Gautam Gambhir and the others would stick with this strategy again.
On the other hand, the likes of KS Bharat and Venkatesh Iyer do not inspire confidence as an opener. Hence, Shaw would be a good choice for KKR to have.
