After releasing Wanindu Hasaranga, RCB probably has the weakest spin attack in the competition. They have Karn Sharma, Himanshu Sharma and Mayank Dagar, all of whom are yet to be established. Plus, RCB does not have the money and the sufficient slots to go after spinners. They also need to focus on their pace department. Hence, we might see them making some cheap and efficient signings at the event. Here, we take a look at the list of three spinners whom RCB might target in IPL 2024 Auctions.
1) Mujeeb Ur Rahman
RCB would need someone who can take the pitch and the stadium conditions out of the equation. There are very few available spinners of that calibre.
At least a few years ago, Mujeeb did show that in the IPL. In the 2023 ODI World Cup, as well, he was in decent form. It would make sense for the franchise to go after the Afghan cricketer. On turning tracks, they need some experienced cricketers and Mujeeb would tick the box in the current scenario.
2) Chintal Gandhi
Chintal Gandhi is one of the spinners whom RCB might target in IPL 2024 Auctions. The 29-year-old from Baroda is in the plans of quite a few franchises in the tournament. Probably, he is the best Indian uncapped leg-spinner available in the event.
He is a fast leg-spinner and has multiple variations. On top of this, Chintal is also decent with the bat. Hence, he could be the subject of attention from RCB.
3) Vaishak Chandran
One of the factors RCB need to keep in mind is that they would also need defensive spinners. Having a good economy is as good as picking wickets in a T20 inning.
For this reason, they could target Vaishak Chandran from Kerala. He is a good spinner and has great control. He can also handle himself with the bat.
