Mumbai Indians had to release quite a few good players before IPL 2024 Auctions. This is mainly because they had to afford Hardik Pandya in the trade window. Some of these players would be great fits at other franchises. Hence, on that note, here, we take a look at three released Mumbai Indians players whom CSK might target in IPL 2024 Auctions.
1) Tristan Stubbs
MS Dhoni could be playing his last season in IPL 2024. The team does need to have a good wicket-keeping option in mind for the future. There should also be an eye on the replacement of Moeen Ali, who operated more as a finisher last season.
Tristan Stubbs is someone who can fit all these roles perfectly. He is also in good form at the moment. A brilliant power-hitter, he could well be what CSK needs for the present and the future. Therefore, the South African player is on this list.
2) Hrithik Shokeen
Hrithik Shokeen is one of the released Mumbai Indians players whom CSK might target in IPL 2024 Auctions. CSK does not have a good Indian right-arm off-spinner at the moment. MS Dhoni likes utility cricketers and Hrithik Shokeen is certainly one.
If used well, Hrithik can have a bright future. At a venue like Chepauk, his bowling will be greatly useful. Therefore, the franchise could target him at the auctions.
3) Jhye Richardson
A few seasons ago, CSK picked Josh Hazlewood at his base price. Many did not expect him to do well. However, it was a key decision that helped the franchise win the trophy.
While they could still target Josh, CSK can also be eyeing someone like Jhye Richardson. Although not very similar, Jhye can be equally impactful. He can also do well at multiple venues across India. He also offers some value with the bat.
