India’s limited-overs opening batter KL Rahul has been going through a tough phase of late. The right-handed batter has been inconsistent in his approach which is not helping the team one bit.

At times, he makes the headlines by scoring enough runs for the team but on the other hand, he has been getting dismissed for cheap scores and thus questioning his reputation as an aggressive batter.

There is already intense competition in the existing Indian cricket team. If a player doesn’t give enough returns, then the selection committee might as well show him the exit door.

As things stand, all eyes are on KL Rahul and if he fails to revive his cricketing career quickly, he might once again come under fire, which would put an additional burden on his shoulders.

Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson chips in with a word of advice for struggling KL Rahul

Meanwhile, former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson who is constantly keeping a tab on Indian cricket came up with a word of advice for the struggling Lokesh Rahul.

Watson added that KL Rahul tried to be too defensive in his approach and his inability to rotate strike at the right time put pressure on the batter. Watson is of the opinion that KL Rahul should bat purely on instinct and only then can he mount pressure on the bowler.

The star batter was not included in the T20I and ODI squad and has already been rested for the New Zealand series. He is expected to be back in cricketing action for India’s tour of Bangladesh in December.

It is so vital for him to rediscover his mojo before it’s too late. He has been named in both the ODI and Test squads against Bangladesh where he will ply his trade as a vice-captain in both formats.
