As per reports, a Mega Auction is set to happen before IPL 2025. Till now, there is no clarity on how many retentions will be available for each franchise. However, interestingly, despite making their debut only this year, a few might be retained by the team. On that note, here, we take a look at three players who made their debut in IPL 2025 but could be retained before IPL 2024 Mega Auctions.

1) Angkrish Raghuvanshi

Last time around, KKR retained four players. All the four players had a role with the ball. Hence, it was bowling-heavy. However, for the next Mega Auction, this could become batting-heavy.

Rinku Singh is one player who will be surely retained. Next up, Shreyas Iyer could also stand a chance to be retained. Since he is an uncapped player, Mumbai’s Angkrish Raghuvanshi could also be retained by the team.

2) Mayank Yadav

Mayank Yadav is one of the players who made their debut in IPL 2025 but could be retained before IPL 2024 Mega Auctions. Not many Indians can clock more than 150 KMPH consistently. Here is where Mayank Yadav stands out of the current crop.

The only disadvantage for LSG is that by the end of the year, Mayank could have made his India debut. This will force the franchise to have extra funds allocated to retaining him. That said, considering his talent, it is all worth it.

3) Rachin Ravindra

Rachin Ravindra has shown that he is ready for IPL. He is already quite experienced at the international level but is still very young. Hence, he could become better in the future.

Although not used this season till now, Rachin Ravindra can also become a good spinner. CSK likes such multi-dimensional cricketers. He is also someone who can bat at multiple slots. Hence, he is likely to be retained by CSK before the next Mega Auction.
