India and Australia will meet in the finals of the 2023 ODI World Cup. Every ODI World Cup, we see at least a few players quit the format. A few others fail to get a spot in the squad, again. Considering all these factors, a few players could be playing their final ODI game on Sunday. Here, we take a look at three players who could be playing their last ODI game in the 2023 ODI World Cup final.

1) David Warner

David Warner, despite the talk around him, has done well in the 2023 ODI World Cup. In fact, he has been the best batter for his side in the tournament.

However, Warner will look to prioritize his time going forward. T20s could be his interest and with the 2024 T20 World Cup coming, he could focus on that. Hence, Warner might not play ODIs again.

2) Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is one of the players who could be playing their last ODI game in the 2023 ODI World Cup final. Especially if India wins the World Cup, the Indian skipper could decide to finish his career on a high.

There are reports that the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025 will be a T20 tournament. If that happens, Rohit might surely consider his ODI career. Also, there is a lot of talent in India and they would need grooming at the earliest.

3) Mitchell Starc

The Australian speedster has confirmed that he will continue playing for Australia after the ODI World Cup. However, it needs to be seen if Australia can afford that.

Starc’s peak fitness is needed for Tests. Also, the likes of Spencer Johnson need more time at the international level. Hence, the management might want Starc to stick to Tests and possibly to T20s, as well. Hence, the Australian pacer is also on this list.
