Royal Challengers Bengaluru have endured a tough campaign in IPL 2024. Nevertheless, the team has done well in certain areas and have certainly got clarity on whom they will retain. That said, RCB is known for pulling off surprising moves and it won’t be a surprise if they take some shocking decisions before IPL 2025. Here, we take a look at the list of three players RCB might surprisingly retain before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.

1) Cameron Green

If RCB has to retain Cameron Green, they will have to shell out a sum close to INR 10 Cr. At a mega-auction, usually, players are available for a lower price. Considering this and the fact that Green has not been great in IPL 2024, ideally, he should not be retained.

However, RCB might have an eye on Green as one of the future superstars of the squad. In this regard, it will not be a surprise if Green gets retained by the outfit.

2) Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell is one of the players RCB might surprisingly retain before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. Close to 36, Maxwell will be a risky retention for RCB. He has struggled to buy runs this season and that further adds to the risk.

That said, Maxwell is a solid cricketer and is capable of a comeback. He has the fitness to extend his career and is also close to the likes of Virat Kohli. Therefore, assuming he will still be a valuable cricketer for two years, Maxwell could still be on the list for RCB.

3) Yash Dayal

It needs to be noted that Yash Dayal is an uncapped cricketer. While his strength is with the new ball, Yash has also showed that he can operate at other phases of the game, too.

Considering the benefits of retaining an uncapped cricketer, RCB could take this route. He is a left-handed bowler and this further adds to his case.
