Rajasthan Royals would be without the services of Devdutt Padikkal for IPL 2024. He has been traded to Lucknow Super Giants while RR got Avesh Khan in return. RR might now have Riyan Parag at No.4. On the other hand, they would look for some replacements. Here, we take a look at the list of three players whom Rajasthan Royals could sign to replace Devdutt Padikkal.
1) Sameer Rizvi
Sameer Rizvi is one of the brightest young stars in the game. He has only started out recently and has already impressed many with his skills.
While he is a top-order batter, he can adapt to a role in the middle order, as well. He might go for a big sum but RR can solely focus on him and get the job done.
2) G Ajitesh
A destructive batter from Tamil Nadu, Ajitesh is also a fine wicket-keeper. Dhruv Jurel is already available in the squad in a similar role. Ajitesh could be a backup here.
Riyan Parag is yet to have a consistent run at No.4 in IPL. Hence, if he fails to do well, Ajitesh can be used as the player in his place. Hence, he is on this list.
3) Rohan Kunnummal
Rohan Kunnummal is one of the players whom Rajasthan Royals could sign to replace Devdutt Padikkal. The Kerala batter has been in fine touch in the last few years. He would be a real deal if any franchise wants to take him in the squad.
Rohan is an opening batter but as we have seen before, players can slip into a middle-order role based on the requirements of the team. The player has multiple skillsets and could do well at No.4. If needed, he can operate at No.3 and Sanju Samson could always come down to No.4. Therefore, RR could target Rohan for IPL 2024.
