Mumbai Indians already have many powerplay bowlers. Hence, signing Mujeeb Ur Rahman as Allah Ghazanfar’s replacement was a bit surprising. Here, we take a look at the list of three players Mumbai Indians could have picked as a replacement instead of Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
1) Adil Rashid
Adil Rashid is one of the players Mumbai Indians could have picked as a replacement instead of Mujeeb Ur Rahman. The English veteran has been doing well in the T20 format.
He is extremely capable of handling a role in the middle overs on his own. The player would have been an upgrade over Karn Sharma as the leg-spin choice.
2) Michael Bracewell could have been picked by Mumbai Indians as the replacement for Allah Ghazanfar
It is a surprise that no one is looking at the Kiwi for a role in the IPL. He can be extremely useful in the competition.
Bracewell is a fine all-rounder and can do a job in the middle overs. MI does not have a good right-arm finger-spinner and hence, he would have been fit.
3) George Linde
Yes, it could have been having another player with similar attributes as Mitchell Santner. However, left-arm finger spinners always add value to a T20 side.
Especially when both can do big-hitting, the asset value increases. Since he played for MI Cape Town, Mumbai might have considered him.
