Lucknow Super Giants have released Romario Shepherd to Mumbai Indians in the first move of the IPL 2024 Trade Window. It appears that LSG would have some plan in mind before releasing the West Indian all-rounder. They would have plenty of options in the market to replace Romario. Here, we take a look at the list of three players LSG might target to replace Romario Shepherd for IPL 2024.
1) Pat Cummins
Pat Cummins is one of the players LSG might target to replace Romario Shepherd for IPL 2024. The Australian skipper had to skip the last season due to the Ashes. Now, he is all set to participate in the event with the 2024 T20 World Cup soon to follow.
Cummins would be a top upgrade over Romario as a bowler. With the bat, as well, Cummins is capable of doing well. His experience would further be a plus for the side. That said, it needs to be seen if Justin Langer would approve this deal.
2) Sean Abbott
Abbott has somehow not found his form in IPL. Currently in good touch, he would look forward to doing well in the next season of the competition.
Abbott would be a good bowler to have on the side, especially if he is not one of the frontline bowlers. As a batter, in the recent series against ODI, the Aussie showed his potential. Therefore, Justin Langer could go for the cricketer.
3) James Neesham
Neesham is yet to have a good campaign in IPL despite representing multiple teams. A lot also has to do with him not getting sufficient chances.
At No.7, Neesham would be an experienced addition to LSG. This is one area that the franchise anyways has to improve. The Kiwi should not be relied upon much with the ball. That said, on his day, if the pitch is slow, he can do a good job with a few overs.
