Avesh Khan has completed his move to Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2024. In this trade deal, Devdutt Padikkal will represent Lucknow Super Giants in the next campaign. Avesh was a big-money acquisition a few years ago. Therefore, the think-tank has to work on replacing him well. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players LSG could sign to replace Avesh Khan for IPL 2024.
1) Ishan Porel
Ishan Porel is one of the players LSG could sign to replace Avesh Khan for IPL 2024. There were high expectations from Bengal’s Ishan a few seasons ago. He even got picked for sides like Punjab Kings but the player did not get the chances and also could not do very well when he got them.
That said, there is talent in Ishan and LSG could bank on it. He is still a youngster and has time to develop. As a bowler, he might not be similar to Avesh but Ishan does give some attributes of his own.
2) Vasuki Koushik
V Koushik from Karnataka is a completely different bowler compared to Avesh. A new-ball pacer, Koushik relies on consistent lines and lengths to get the job done for him. He is also an economical bowler.
LSG might need such an option at the start at the EKANA Stadium. While the likes of Mark Wood could go hard at the batters, someone like Koushik could be needed to keep things calm at the other end.
3) Gerald Coetzee
Yes, he is a foreign option but Coetzee is close when it comes to Avesh’s attributes as a bowler. Of course, the South African is better at the moment.
He has pace, can hit the deck hard and is aggressive, much like Avesh Khan. A combination of Mark Wood and Coetzee will be interesting and LSG could target this.
