1) Shreyas Iyer
Giving captaincy to Nicholas Pooran can be a bit risky. At times, he could be inconsistent and LSG cannot afford that because he is the lead batter for the side. Anyway, the franchise needs some more experienced batters and for all these reasons, Shreyas Iyer makes a very good fit.
Of course, the price could be high but if LSG can get hold of Shreyas Iyer and install him at No.3, they will have a balanced batting unit for the future. It would be an advantage if he can captain the side, considering the success he had in the last campaign.
2) Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan is one of the players LSG could sign as a replacement for KL Rahul in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. There are reports that before IPL 2022 Mega Auctions, LSG had Ishan Kishan in mind. However, the eventually decided to proceed with other options.
Nevertheless, the franchise could still attempt to get him again. He is a quality player and can be the lead opener for the side. He has the experience in the IPL to become one of the star batters for the side.
3) Venkatesh Iyer
He is an under-rated option currently in the league. Despite batting at multiple batting slots for KKR, the Madhya Pradesh man has been impactful with his runs. Plus, on his day, he can also provide something with the ball in hand.
Ideally, he would want to work as an opener. Of course, LSG will have to get a right-handed opener so that this could work out at the top of the order. Hence, Iyer is a part of this list.
