1) Ben Stokes

Stokes recently agreed to a one-year-deal with ECB. Hence, it won’t be a surprise if he would prioritize IPL from 2025. CSK would like to keep a lot of options open as to who could replace MS Dhoni as the skipper. Hence, they can retain Stokes.
2) Dwaine Pretorius

The talented pacer did not play in IPL 2023 due to injury. It would have been expected that the franchise would release him, especially because he has not done much domestically since then.
However, Simarjeet is a player with a lot of potential. If he can get a chance to operate under the guidance of MS Dhoni, there could be some good days as a player for him. Hence, trusting his potential, the five-time champions could retain him.
