1) Imad Wasim
Considering he will be 37 for the 2026 T20 World Cup and since he has already retired once, Imad Wasim may not have a future in the Pakistan setup. Adding to this, he failed in the 2024 T20 World Cup, especially with the bat.
Pakistan could rather invest in a youngster who would be ready by the next T20 World Cup. This will hold an advantage for the side when we talk about the future, as well.
2) Azam Khan
Azam Khan is one of the Pakistan players who might not play a T20I in the near future after 2024 T20 WC. It was a really bad tournament for Azam Khan both as a player and in general.
There was a lot of talk about his fitness and attitude. Now, he will need to take time off and get back to a good level of fitness. He must also work on his batting, especially against pace.
3) Shadab Khan
Pakistan might lose their patience with Shadab Khan now. The fact that he hardly bowled in the 2024 T20 World Cup shows the kind of confidence the management and the skipper has in him.
Even with the bat, he is very consistent and cannot be relied upon in crunch situations. Therefore, Pakistan might develop a big-hitting batting all-rounder while also trusting Abrar Ahmed for the future.
