CSK would need a few fresh recruits for IPL 2025. They could also eye some players who are currently with arch0-rivals Mumbai Indians. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Mumbai Indians players whom CSK could target for IPL 2025.

1) Ishan Kishan
It would be an ambitious signing but CSK must try for it. Based on his current form and the cap on retentions, Ishan Kishan may not be retained by Mumbai Indians. Hence, he will go under the hammer.
While CSK’s priority will be to have Devon Conway at the top of the order, if Ishan is available, he should be a better option. This is mainly because of his age and his keeping skills. He would be an instant option at the top order and will also be the long-term keeper for the side.
2) Gerald Coetzee
Gerald Coetzee is one of the Mumbai Indians players whom CSK could target for IPL 2025. It was actually a surprise that CSK did not go for him in IPL 2024 auctions although they employ him in South Africa.
Matheesha Pathirana is sure to be retained by CSK. However, the franchise will need another overseas pacer on the side. This player must be able to hit the deck hard and should be able to bowl in tandem with the Sri Lankan speedster if needed. Coetzee would be the ideal pick in this regard.
3) Vishnu Vinod
Vishnu Vinod was injured and hence, ruled out of IPL 2024. Nevertheless, Mumbai Indians are unlikely to retain him for the next season.
If CSK is planning for a future replacement for MS Dhoni, they can consider Vishnu. He can play as a finisher and is very experienced as a keeper. Hence, he is on this list.
