3 major mistakes Rajasthan Royals made at the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions

In hindsight, it could be easy to analyse. However, right from the day when the auctions got over, many pointed out the poor show of the Rajasthan Royals at the event. Here, we take a look at the list of three major mistakes the Rajasthan Royals made at the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.

1) A foreign spin-duo

In the last cycle, RR had the best spin combination in R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. However, the franchise did not get even one of them back. They could have gone for other Indian spinners, at least. Instead, they picked Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana, both of whom did not offer much threat this season.

2) Buying only 6 foreigners is one of the mistakes the Rajasthan Royals made at the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions

Not having the right backups can play a big spoilsport. RR must have learnt the lesson now. If they had a solid foreign combination like SRH, this strategy would have been understood. However, they hired some backup foreigner, and yet, they filled only 6 foreign slots.

3) No experienced Indian pacers

Yes, Sandeep Sharma is experienced but in the overall context, he is not relevant when it comes to Team India. Someone like Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj or Prasidh Krishna would have helped this side.
