As per reports, BCCI is likely to insist on a Mega Auction before IPL 2025 despite teams like KKR being against it. Therefore, some fine players could go under the hammer before the next auctions. RCB could be targeting a few of them to improve their squad. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three KKR players whom RCB could target for IPL 2025.

Note: We have considered players who are likely to be released by KKR if there is a Mega Auction.

1) Venkatesh Iyer

In recent seasons, RCB has invested in a lot of all-rounders. Andy Flower is also someone who likes multi-dimensional cricketers. In this regard, Venky Iyer would be a decent choice to join the side.

Especially with the team needing a left-handed domestic batter, Iyer would be a good profile. His age is also perfect to serve the franchise for a long period if he does well. Hence, he is on this list.

2) Phil Salt

Phil Salt is one of the KKR players whom RCB could target for IPL 2025. It is highly unlikely that RCB will retain Faf du Plessis before the next season.

The franchise will need an ultra-aggressive batter to partner with Virat Kohli at the top. Now that Dinesh Karthik has retired, RCB will also need a reliable wicketkeeper. Phil Salt will be the perfect profile to join RCB in this regard.

3) Nitish Rana

Similar to Iyer, Nitish Rana also offers the same skillsets to the side. Plus, he is more experienced and can play spin better in the middle order.

Considering he was the captain of KKR for one season, he could be an outside candidate to lead an IPL franchise in the future. Rana is also a decent off-spinner and that further adds value to any side that he will join.
