A few years ago, Suryakumar Yadav made his India debut when he was close to his thirties. Cut to now, he is the No.1 T20I batter. Usually, players make their debuts in their twenties. However, SKY changed that and he became successful, as well. A few more cricketers could join this list in the coming months. Here, we take a look at the list of three Indians aged above 30 who could make their T20I debut soon.
1) Rajat Patidar
The Madhya Pradesh cricketer has already made his Test and ODI debut. However, in T20Is, as well, it might not be long before he gets to play for the country.
He happens to be one of the most destructive players of spin in India. Plus, he can also deal with the pacers well. Considering the 2026 T20 World Cup is in India and Sri Lanka, there will be a demand for such players. In this regard, Patidar could play for India soon.
2) Rahul Tewatia
A few years ago, Rahul Tewatia was in the India squad for a T20I series. However, due to a fitness issue, he had to be taken out. Since then, Rahul is unable to get a chance in the India colours.
That said, in the IPL, he has been doing well as a finisher. He has good range at the death and this is something that the likes of Gautam Gambhir could bank on. Hence, at 31, Tewatia could still make his debut.
3) Shashank Singh
Shashank Singh is one of the Indians aged above 30 who could make their T20I debut soon. In IPL 2024, Shashank Singh was one of the better performers for Punjab Kings.
Not just as a finisher but when he was asked to bat higher up, as well, Shashank did a decent job. If he can get one more great IPL campaign under his belt, he could, as well, play for India.
