Daryl Mitchell finished the 2023 ODI World Cup on a high, with a sensational knock against India. He is the ideal middle-order and the player also showed his skills against spin. The Kiwi did have a short stint at Rajasthan Royals a few seasons ago. However, it was not a fruitful one. That said, he would be in great demand as a reliable middle-order batter. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three franchises that could target Daryl Mitchell for IPL 2024.

1) Chennai Super Kings

As per reports, CSK is all set to release Ben Stokes back to the auctions. On the other hand, the team might struggle in the finishing department. While Ambati Rayudu has retired, Ravindra Jadeja’s batting form has not been great. MS Dhoni’s form can be judged only after the season starts.

In this regard, Daryl would be the ideal candidate for CSK. He can operate at No.5 and give the strength in the back end. Also, he can bowl slow medium-pace, which can actually work at Chepauk. Hence, he is on this list.

2) Delhi Capitals could target Daryl Mitchell for IPL 2024

DC needs a finisher for IPL 2024. Rovman Powell could be released and there is a cushion required for Rishabh Pant, who will return after a long time from injury.

Daryl is a man in form and would be the perfect partner for Axar Patel during the final phase of the innings. At times, DC struggled for balance as they did not have a good sixth bowling option. Now combining Mitchell Marsh and Daryl Mitchell, they might find an answer with the Kiwi’s signing.

3) Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore is also one of the franchises that could target Daryl Mitchell for IPL 2024. If DK is not in great form, RCB would struggle again next season.

They need to find a good finisher, even if this comes at the expense of an overseas bowler. At Chinnaswamy, Daryl could wreak havoc. Hence, he is someone Andy Flower could target.
