Royal Challengers Bangalore is known for releasing players who go on to do well in other teams. Well, that is only a coincidence. However, in IPL 2024, we could have some more examples joining this list. Sunrisers Hyderabad hired some good names who previously played for RCB. Before the auctions, SRH also traded Shahbaz Ahmed from RCB. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three former RCB players that SRH signed in IPL 2024 Auctions.
1) Wanindu Hasaranga
One of the biggest shocks of the auction was Wanindu Hasaranga going for only his base price at IPL 2024 Auctions. For a player of his calibre, he deserved more.
Nevertheless, SRH will be pleased with this signing. They now have a solid spin attack and at venues such as Lucknow or Chepauk, they will be a force to reckon with.
2) Travis Head
In the past, Travis Head has played only for RCB. However, after his splendid form in recent years, it was a given that he would play in IPL 2024.
With the arrival of Head, there is more spark at the top of the order for SRH. They are now guaranteed to have good starts and might also use the bowling of Head when needed.
3) Jaydev Unadkat
Jaydev Unadkat is one of the former RCB players that SRH signed in IPL 2024 Auctions. With Pat Cummins coming in, SRH will not be able to have Marco Jansen in the XI. Hence, they needed a new-ball bowler who could share the task with Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
It was long ago that Unadkat played for RCB. He had a decent run back then. After that, he played for teams such as RPS, RR, MI & LSG. He would now play for SRH and might even feature in the first XI. It would be an important opportunity for him, as well.
