Mumbai Indians are arguably the best franchise that makes use of the trade window. The popular team has pulled off some of the best deals during the trade window. On most times, these decisions have directly paid off, with the team winning the title. Now, ahead of IPL 2024, too, they are active in the window. One deal is already through and some more signings are expected. On that note, here, we take a look at three former players whom Mumbai Indians might target in the IPL 2024 Trade Window.
1) Mayank Markhande – Sunrisers Hyderabad
In fact, as per reports, Mumbai Indians have already sealed the deal to bring back Markhande to Mumbai Indians from Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Punjab spinner has played for MI before in two stints. In fact, he was once released by MI in a trade window a few seasons ago.
MI needs a good spin attack and Mayank is someone who is in form. As a leg-spinner, he would add variety to the attack that consists of only Piyush Chawla as the notable name now.
2) Jayant Yadav – Gujarat Titans
Jayant Yadav is one of the former players whom Mumbai Indians might target in the IPL 2024 Trade Window. The Haryana spinner has not got a lot of games at GT, so far.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians might need an experienced off-spinner to accompany Hrithik Shokeen. Jayant would be a suitable fit here. He has played for MI before and has taken some important wickets for the franchise.
3) Simarjeet Singh
Not many know that Simarjeet Singh was a part of the Mumbai squad before he made the move to CSK. Last season, he could not play a game due to injury.
Mumbai might need good depth in the fast-bowling attack. Simarjeet Singh has pace and is known to trouble the batters early on. He would be a good option here.
