3 former players whom KKR should target in IPL 2024 Trade Window

Kolkata Knight Riders were very active in the trade window before IPL 2023 Auctions. They hired the likes of Lockie Ferguson and Shardul Thakur during this phase. However, both the signings could not help the franchise. Nevertheless, as per reports, the franchise is active in the ongoing trade window, as well. Here, we take a look at three former players whom KKR should target in the IPL 2024 Trade Window.

1) Shivam Mavi – Gujarat Titans

Barring the high salary, Shivam Mavi was actually a pretty good buy by KKR at the Mega-Auctions. However, they had to release him last year, and GT took advantage of it. That said, Mavi did not get a single game at GT last season.

KKR would need to build a good Indian-pace attack. Relying on Umesh Yadav may not be an option. Hence, as a new-ball option, they can try Shivam Mavi once more.

2) Rahul Tripathi – Sunrisers Hyderabad

Rahul Tripathi is one of the former players whom KKR should target in the IPL 2024 Trade Window. The SRH cricketer is currently on a big salary. If that hurdle is crossed, he would be the ideal investment for KKR.

KKR needs an Indian opener. The likes of N Jagadeesan failed to do the job last season. Hence, Rahul would be a great option here, especially because he has played at the franchise before and is loved very much by the fans. That said, it would take a lot for KKR to convince SRH to release the cricketer.

3) Manish Pandey – Delhi Capitals

KKR had someone like Mandeep Singh as the backup batter last season. This time around, they can ask Delhi if they trade Manish Pandey to KKR. Manish is a popular KKR player, having won two trophies for them.

The team needs a backup Indian batter. As much as Manish struggles in the middle-order, he is still a very strong option as an opener in the powerplay. This is something that KKR can explore.
